The
gite is called "Le Tardis" because it looks small on the outside but is
spacious inside! It is a 2/3 bedroom converted barn cottage on the
outskirts of the village of Bacilly near to Avranches, Baie of Mont St
Michel and Genets in Southern Normandy, France.
The
property is ideal for a family or 2 groups of adults. It can ultimately
sleep 8 but 4-6 is the most suitable number. It is an excellent base
for a beach holiday, the nearest is only 5km and has stunning views of
Mont St Michel. Plus there is a whole coastline of other beaches all
within easy reach.
It
is close to the port of Granville where Jersey can be reached on a day
trip. There are a host of places to visit within easy driving distance
such as Mont St Michel or you could take a guided walk across the sands
to it. The D Day Beaches, for which it is the 60th Anniversary this year
are all 45mins to 1 hours drive. Bayeux with its wonderful cathedral,
museums and tapestry is 45 mins. The local town of Avranches is 5km
away and houses the illustrated manuscripts of Mont St Michel in one of
its museums. Coutances, St Lo and St Malo are only 30- 45 mins drive
away.
There views are stunning and it is an ideal area for walking and cycling
too. Horse riding on the sands is available 8km away. In the high
season it is possible to take mirco light aircraft tours of the bay and
Mont St Michel. There are lots of local markets and festivals from
Spring to Autumn. |
