Dating from the 17th century Balleroy was built round its magnificent château*, which still crowns the wide tree lined approach to the village very impressively. There is a fine market place and a wide range of shops – there is no need to get in your car at all is you don’t want to! There is a well-stocked supermarket, two boulangeries, a charcuterie and butchers, all within easy walking distance of the house.

Rene is a well furnished and comfortable family home with great character which sleeps 5-6 people. It is centrally-heated so that you can enjoy the riches of the area in any season. There are wonderful views to the rear of the house over the château ground and the Cerisy forest (lovely in winter when the trees are covered in frost) and the south facing patio with its traditional stone walls, makes a wonderful setting for meals ‘al fresco’.

Rene, set in a traditional French village setting, makes an ideal holiday base whatever the season.

The centrally heated accommodation includes:

On the ground floor;

-A well equipped breakfast kitchen with gas cooker, fridge, freezer, microwave, electric kettle and toaster. -A comfortable lounge/dining room with an antique pine dining table large enough to sit six, a three-seater (sprung) bed settee and two armchairs. There is also an antique pine china cabinet and captain’s chair.

French doors lead to a balcony with steps down to a sunny walled patio. Gardens lead off down to the stream. -Shower room and separate toilet with a laundry area and automatic washing machine An antique polished wood staircase leads to the first floor; -A large double bedroom with double bed (king size duvet), pine wardrobe and chest of drawers -A twin room with two single beds, a chest of drawers and a hanging rail -A pretty single bedroom with single bed (guest bed under), wardrobe, bookcase and chest of drawers. -Small TV lounge with TV and VHS video, two-seater settee and armchair.

All beds are provided with duvets and pillows and mattress covers but you will need to bring sheets, pillow cases and duvet covers.
