Offering two double bedroom gites, La Locherie is easily reached from the channel ports and is less than an hour’s drive from sandy beaches. 

The gites are ideally placed for a relaxing holiday. There is plenty of scope for walking, cycling, fishing, eating and soaking up the tranquil French country life. 

They are just four miles from Pontmain, the second most important place of pilgrimage in France, after Lourdes, and within easy reach of the eighth wonder of the world, Mont St Michel and the Normandy landing beaches. There are several more important war sites nearby, including a poignant American cemetery at St James. 

There are rich opportunities for sightseeing, a market for every day of the week, fine restaurants and a wealth of good shops with great prices. 

Maison Du Soleil 

This old barn and grain store has been lovingly restored into a charming holiday home, equipped to exacting modern standards while still retaining its original character. The star attraction is the balcony, through the old granary door of the main bedroom, where you can bask in the sun and look out over stunning countryside by day and enjoy a nightcap under the breathtaking stars after dark. 

Both double bedrooms are well equipped, and bed linen and towels are included within the rental price. The bathroom, with both bath and shower, is also upstairs. 

Downstairs is a newly equipped kitchen with washing machine, microwave, full sized cooker with electric fan oven and gas and electric hob and everything needed to conjure up a delicious meal from local produce. We even provide the recipe book. If you prefer to cook outside, a barbecue is available.  

The lounge is beautifully furnished, with two sofas, wood burning stove and electric heaters. There’s a CD player and radio and a choice of CDs and books to keep you entertained. 

Games players can take advantage of the boules, darts and badminton sets.  

Maison Des Etoiles 

This stunning gite is a magical mix of old and new, with original stone walling in the master bedroom and ancient oak beams (sometimes quite low!). The windows and doors flood the property with light and provide fabulous views at every turn.  

The double bedrooms are slightly bigger than those of Maison Du Soleil and each can comfortably take a cot if required. There is an upstairs bathroom with bath and shower. Downstairs is a fully fitted kitchen, lounge and dining area, to similar specifications as its sister gite. There is easily controlled electric heating throughout, with a wood burning stove for colder seasons.  

Booking

Rental charges include reasonable electricity and wood usage, all towels and bedding and a welcome pack. Bottled gas is provided for the cooker and guests are asked to replace this if it runs out during their stay. Charges are per gite per week, from 4pm Saturday to 10 am the following Saturday. Deposit amount is 25% of total rental cost and is due at time of booking. Final payment is 75% of total rental cost and is due no less than two calendar months prior to rental start date. The security deposit is £50 for each full or partial rental week.
