Each bedroom has its own private en-suite bathroom. The bedrooms are both south facing and catch all the sunshine on offer in this the second sunniest region of France. The views are over arable farm land where sunflowers and grapes are important crops.

The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you would expect including a dish washer. The lounge still has its working Charente fireplace and is equipped with satellite TV, DVD player, and a CD player. A wi-fi Internet broadband connection is also available.

This cottage shares a 10 meter by 5 meter heated salt water swimming pool with one other small cottage. The pool has constant depth of 1.2 meters and is fully enclosed by a wall and conforms to the very high French safety standards for pools. The pool is surrounded by a very large patio area and ample sun loungers are provided. Salt water pools are much kinder to the skin and eyes.

The cottage has its own private patio area, with outside table and chairs, a sun shade and a BBQ.

We have a games room on site which faces away from the cottages and has a magnificent uninterrupted view over the countryside. To take advantage of the landscape there is also a large terrace area there and a large BBQ.

We have a small laundry should you wish to waste some of you holiday time doing chores.

Le Bourg Chatenet is a small hamlet close to the town of Montendre. There, there are two large supermarkets and also a weekly morning market [Thursday]. In the summer months it is also famous for its Marche Nocturne [night time market] where you can eat and watch the free street entertainment.

We are also close to the village of Chevanceaux [5 kms] which has a junction from the N10 motorway making access from the north very easy.

We have under cover parking for your car or motorbike which is very useful in the summer.

An ideal location for visiting famous places like Bordeaux, Cognac, St Emilion and Angouleme and wine producing areas or just to sit and relax.
