Set in the peaceful countryside amid a patchwork of vineyards, sunflower fields and meadows of South West France, La Grande Metairie is a charming old Charentaise farmhouse, where the stables offer spacious 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom self catering accommodation with PRVATE POOL for guests seeking a relaxing and memorable holiday.

Just 5 metres from your door is a wonderful 10 x 5 metre swimming pool, and as the only guests you can enjoy the peace and tranquillity whilst soaking up some of the 2200 hours of sunshine we get every year. The pool has roman steps which allow easy access, the depth varies from 1.15 - 1.75 metres and has an AFNOR approved alarm. Sun loungers and parasols offer poolside comfort.

La Grande Metairie offers tranquillity with lovely views of the surrounding hills and woodland, although we are with-in minutes of shops, restaurants and the market towns of Jonzac and Montendre. We are also ideally placed for visits to Cognac, Saintes and Bordeaux, to name but a few.

La Grande Metairie is more than a summer retreat. Enjoy the Spring flowers or the mellow fruitfulness of the Autumn grape harvest. This area is superb for walking, cycling or just unwinding in the warm sun. We offer special rates if you are looking for a short break or longer stay between October and May. Please contact us for more information.

Whatever you want from your holiday, be it relaxing by the pool with your favourite drink or exploring this beautiful part of France, the choice is yours and here it is endless.
