Le Tilleul named after the grand lime tree that you will pass as you
approach the gite. Recently renovated the two bedroom ground floor
accommodation has exposed beams to all rooms with either tiles or wood
floors. Fully equipped kitchen/diner with wood burner for the cooler
months. Off the hallway a spacious shower room. Bedroom one has three
single beds, bedroom two has a double bed and French doors leading out
to the patio. Sofa bed in lounge. Patio table and chairs with gaz
barbeque for you to enjoy meals 'al fresco'. Relaxing in the one acre
gardens, fully enclosed by hedges, trees....figs, cherries, plums,
apples. The area around the 7.5 metre pool has plenty of sun loungers,
tables and chairs. In a large converted barn is the games room with table tennis, pool, small snooker table, darts and much more. Also available are a good selection of bikes. Tennis court in the village as well as children's play area and a obstacle / assault course for the energetic. Paizay le Tort is a charming village in a wooded valley encompassed by three chateaux. The river Berlande meanders through. Pleasant walks, rambles and cycle rides can be found from this typical French village with roman church and a friendly restaurant/bar just a short stroll away. Fresh croissants and baguettes delivered to your door. Or visit Melle a romanesque town just 5 km away with market every Friday. Places to visit.... too many to mention but a few are Poitiers, La Rochelle, Cognac, Marais Poitevin, Angouleme, Futuroscope. A little nearer are Niort, Javersay Chateaux, Lake Lambon, Poitou Donkey Sanctuary, Monkey World and more. and then the many villages you can explore for yourself. Driving on the quiet roads, cycling along side the fields of sunflowers or sweetcorn where the only disturbance is the wildlife. Stop for a 'plat de jour' and just enjoy... |
