Les Augerelles is situated on the edge of the Marais Poitevin in the southern Vendee on the boarder of the Poitou-Charante near the renaissance town of Fontenay le Comte a little inland from La Rochelle.

Located in the small hamlet of Baude the property over looks 200 hectares of common land. About 35 mins drive inland from the award winning long sandy beaches of the Atlantic coast and La Rochelle. The historic port of La Rochelle boasts some of the finest seafood restaurants in the area and one of the largest indoor aquariums in Europe and is well worth a day out. Equally you are in easy reach on the Mervent Forest and Vouvant (recently featured on ITV's "A place in the sun" series) and is a past winner of best villages in France award.

Easy day trips include Futuroscope, Puy du Fou and the Brandy houses of Remy Martin, Hennesey and Otard at Cognac.

There is something for all the family nearby, walking, fishing, bike riding, horse riding, birdwatching, cafe/bars and restaurants to name just a few. With the region being one of the sunniest in France boasting an average of 2000+ hrs of sun a year you can have a relaxing stay without the long drive to the southern Mediterranean coast.
